Gallery of Work
I employ traditionally fiber-based techniques—stitching, cutting, and knitting—but my use of wire adds an industrial aspect allowing me to explore broader, more universal concepts of reconstruction, repair, regeneration, boundaries, and connection.
Whether working with broken crockery, repurposed objects, or aluminum screen, connection and tension between elements are integral to the structure of each piece. Aluminum screen offers the fabric-like properties of grain and bias with the added benefit of rigidity.
No matter the materials, the integrity of each piece depends on the interconnection of one element to another to achieve stability—a principle that extends beyond the artwork to reflect how connections in our social and natural structures both strengthen, adapt and divide.
Through these material explorations, I investigate themes of environmental, human interaction and biology seeking moments of repair and regeneration within both complexity and chaos.
